Where to find your tyre size
It is moulded into the sidewall of the tyre, in the same place on every car. Send us that string of numbers and we can quote you without seeing the car.
It looks like this
205/55 R16 91V
- 205 is the width in millimetres
- 55 is the sidewall height as a percentage of the width
- R16 is the wheel diameter in inches
- 91V is the load and speed rating
If you cannot get to the car, the registration document lists the sizes your car is approved for.
Which brand should you fit?
It depends on how much you drive and where. If the car does short runs to Moraira and back, a mid range tyre is money well spent and premium rubber is not. If you drive to northern Europe and back every year at motorway speed in summer heat, that changes the answer. Tell us how you use the car and we will give you two or three options at different prices rather than one.
Three things that kill tyres here
Standing still
A car left on the same spot for months develops flat spots and the rubber ages in the sun whether you drive it or not. Age matters as much as tread depth.
Heat and pressure
Underinflated tyres run hot, and summer here is hot to start with. Check the pressures cold, and check them before a long drive, not after.
Kerbs and alignment
Narrow streets and high kerbs. One good hit knocks the geometry out and starts wearing one shoulder of the tyre away.
